Viaducts
  • Mhlahlane River Viaduct: 600 m long multiple concrete arch near Ulundi, in KwaZulu-Natal, on the Broodsnyersplaas to the Richards Bay railway line
  • Groot River Bridge: 300 m long by 175 m high bridge deck with 189 m long open spandrel concrete arch on the national road near Nature's Valley in the Eastern Cape
  • Mzimkulu River Bridge: 300 m long dual carriageway bridge on the national road near Port Shepstone in KwaZulu-Natal, built by the incrementally launched technique
  • Durban Southern Gateway Viaducts: overpass structures on pile foundations.
  • Swartkops River Bridge: Two 300 m long dual carriageway bridges on a trunk road near Uitenhage, built by stage construction technique.
Awards

J&G has received the following awards for bridges designed and constructed under their supervision:

  • Mhlahlane River Viaduct (1987):
    - Commended by the Concrete Society of Southern Africa (CSSA) for the development of a proven design to produce a long, high viaduct of classical structural form
    - South African Institution of Civil Engineers (SAICE) Regional Award for Excellence in Civil Engineering
  • Manning Avenue Bridge (1989):
    - SAICE Regional Award for Excellence in Civil Engineering
  • Mkomaas River Footbridge (2007):
    - CSSA Fulton Award for Excellence in the Use of Concrete – category: Design Aspects
    - South African Association of Consulting Engineers Award for projects costing less than R5 million
    - Runner-up at SAICE Awards for Excellence in Civil Engineering (2008)
  • Bosmansdam Road Footbridge (2007):
    - CSSA Fulton Award for Excellence in the Use of Concrete – category: Aesthetic Aspects
